Busy...

This week has been a very busy week for me. I have not:-

1) Really cleaned the house.
2) Washed all the laundries.
3) Ironed the clothes.
4) Bought mandarin oranges.
5) 'Fung lai si'... inserted $$ into its pouch la...
6) Go round and buy goodies for my mom...

The above are only the top priority on my list now... in actual fact, I have lots to be done to welcome the Chinese New Year.... Oh well, I am busy and what the heck; no one visits my home so I can just treat it like a normal public holiday... No mood la this year.

Oscar is now recovering but still refuse to take solids and very moody and drowsy all the time... can simply 'tertidur' anywhere in the house ...... Thank you all for the well wishes...

Will be taking a break (hopefully not for long) and will welcome you all into my new home...hehe (I think some of you already knew about my new home...)

Up-date on Oscar

My dear son has been sick for the past few days. It has already 'pecahkan' the record of 3-days last year!

He lost altogether 4 pounds in 4-days!!! His face is now so small and he feels lighter by the weight now as I carried him to the bedroom a moment ago. He has lost his entire appetite. Even junk food like yogurt or biscuit does not enticed him.

All he does now is just lie down on the couch and fall asleep and woke up and asleep and woke up through out the day. His daily meal consumption is just milk (5oz each time compare to normal 8oz) and plain water. He dont want to eat rice or soup or noodles.

He slept so much, that his back has turned red and there are alot of lines at the back. And because he sleeps on his right side most of the time, his right face has got lines and his right ears turned red and there are skin peeling already.

I used to make noise when Oscar is messing around with my things at home or when he plays his toys (its every where in the house like a war zone!)... these few days, I sort of missed the house being 'messy'. I missed those days when my little boy would use all his mighty strenght to push our lazy chair to the centre of the living room so that he can sit there and enjoy his cartoon while 'ordering' me around, I missed those days when he would call me loudly in our dressing room to ask me to look for him (he likes playing hide and seek but dont know the actual 'rule' or the game) and whenever I opened the fridge, I anticipated that I hear his little feet 'patting' on the floor coming from my back and asked 'Mommy, I want Yakult..' or 'Mommy, one yogurt peas (please)'... but no, he didnt come near to the fridge.. only asked me from the living room what did I took out from the fridge..

Oscar, please be good and take your medicine and please get well soon... If you continue to be ill, then you will not have a chance to parade your new cheongsam (for boy wan la) on the first day of Chinese New Year... Grandpa and Ah Po both are worried sick because of you... Ah Po even offered to let you stay over night till you are better... Daddy did not get a good night sleep for the past few days and daddy is now looking very much like a China Panda Bear (with his big belly protruding out!)... We all love you Oscar...

My Longest Night Ever...

I wished that weekday nights were as long as last night so that I can get more sleeps!! But, last night was really a challenge for me and hubby as we both could not get a wink. Oscar was terribly sick even we gave him his medication. His fever subsided but the flu and cough is just unbearable. *Touch Wood* Oscar seldom fall 'this' sick for his entire 3.5 years old life. His common fever come and go within a day and its usually very mild. Oscar will be his usual self running and messing things around. Yesterday evening was really crazy as he refuse to eat or drink. I went berserk last night as hubby got entertaining to do also.

Oscar slept early on the couch last night and when I want to carry him into the room, he refused. So, he slept of the couch almost till midnight.

Me and hubby could not sleep as we took turn to take temperature and feed him water. At about 2am, Oscar woke me up telling me that he is hot. I dozed off a little and I got a shocked to know that my poor boy is really hot on the forehead. Took temperature and it was like 37Deg Cel! Sponged him and he was alright. Couldn't sleep any longer this time. My eyes was like wide opened. At about 3.30am Oscar woke up again and hubby took his temperature and this time was 40Deg Cel!!!! We sponged him and feed him paracetamol and the fever just didnt go off. That's it! Hubby was like as panic as the night I gave birth! Packed our stuff and head to the clinic nearby.

Upon reaching the clinic, the nurse took her own sweet time to register Oscar and hubby was like really mad... told the nurse "Excuse me, hurry up! Emergency here! High fever la... Faster la!" Then when we went to see the doctor, Oscar's temperature went down a bit; 38Deg Cel.. doctor gave suppository immediately.

Upon reaching home, Oscar's temperature was ok but he was having lots of phlegm... little boy could not sleep either. All the ding dong, it was already 6am... we all could not sleep but lie quietly on our bed. Hubby finally got up from bed at 8am and me too.... Can't sleep but Oscar was in lala-land already. Temperature normal.

But, the story doesn't end here. This morning while I was chatting with Sasha and Julian, Oscar cried out loudly and when I went into the room, his temperature was 40Deg Cel again!!! Damn panic as hubby went to work already. Packed my bag again and this time really ready to go hospital... but before leaving, I put suppository again... and I left Oscar alone so that I can go close the windows and turn off the stove... Wow, very quickly I went to pick Oscar up and I felt that his temperature dropped. Took the thermometer to double check and his temperature dropped to 37Deg Cel again he Oscar fell asleep again.(wa must stock suppository liow after this...) So, I didnt bring him to the hospital.

*Phew* This is my biggest challenge as I have not seen Oscar this sick before and knowing the fact that it's me that caused Oscar to be sick, I feel like kicking myself in the arse! I should have left him at my mom's place few days ago when I was sick... sorry boy. I was not fully recovered too so all the up and down and sleepless night, I am having a fever again and coughing again. Shish! So is this the way that I am welcoming Chinese New Year this year?

Sick (Part 2)

I was and still sick as at today. Its even worst today as I have had a very high fever... My whole body ache like mad and even a light touch will caused me to shout in pain!

As I was drifting into my sleeps in and out like some sick people in the hospital, my darling has this to tell me:-

Oscar: Mommy, why you sleep? Now not yet dark dark.
Me: Mommy sick la Oscar. Go and play outside with your toys.
Oscar: Wait...(he left the room)
* A minute later he came back with something.
Oscar: Mommy, put this... (he slaps a 'Cool Fever' on my forehead)
Me: Oh, Oscar, this is for you, not for mommy...
Oscar: Oscar so san-yang mommy... I fu (love) you...
Me: *So touched till I cried... cried because in pain also la* I love you too Oscar.

Then my little boy left me alone in the room to sleep and him playing alone outside.

After I woke up, I am still like a zombie. While sitting on the couch, I drifted to sleep again (Damn flu medicine) (at-choo, wanton anybody hehe). Oscar came to me and wants to be hugged. My poor boy, I asked him not to come near me as I was having a terrible flu. Don't know if he understood me and he just left me alone drifting into my lala-land again and again...

"Oscar, mommy promised to make up to you when mommy is better ok..."

Aduh!!! Pain Pain

Aduh! Pain... pain...

Yes, I am sick already and I can't go blog hopping and no weekend up date for you guys. Was not feeling really good in the morning as I woke up from bed but must 'tahan' and drag myself to work... Blueh... the feeling is horrible when I reached office, but as there is a seminar that I am invited to attend, I have to be strong...

Before heading to the seminar, I had to rush to do some errands and was really driving like a mad person on the road cos I was super duper late. Reached the seminar room and was like oooOOOooo late!! But it was a fruitful seminar.

Left the seminar at about 4 plus and head back to office as there are some work which I need to attend to and while driving, I sneezed non stop and my throat was like.... er... there is a sharp cut in it! Could not swallow my saliva also....

When I reached office, quickly made myself a cup of hot tea as my whole body was not well altogether....My whole body was like very cold and very hot at the same time... until goose-bumps also got! Rang hubby up to tell him that and he asked me to go home straight away... how to go la...when I was about to leave, the phone rang.... when I was about to close the door, the phone rang... dingdong dingdong, I left the office at close to 7pm!!! Bbrrrrrrrrr.... cold....

Went to pick Oscar up and head home straight. Had my shower and went out for a quick dinner (lazy to cook and tarak strenght la). Had porridge for dinner and went home straight away...

Now eyes all screwed up but still want to do this post... Ok. zzz time... Want to take a day or two off if this week is not too busy... my body need some time off la cos during weekends, I didnt rest well. Need to be maid to clean house and also part time staff to hubby... sienzzzz.....

Angeleyes: There is a sub-blog from here which is like a masak masak blog... haha, must read la cos want to 'curi' some cooking idea la.. The maind blog also nice cos when you see the owner's bb hor... you feel like pinching and bitting the bb's face.... geram-nya! Just joking...

LaundryAmah: Yaya, eventho' I know she is blogging and doing up a post, I still want to read cos she very funny one... and also now she seldom in the office, so less yakking time with me.. reading her blog kind of up-dating myself la.

And all other nice blogs which I cannot do without daily... reading these blogs really make me a happier person and also it widens my circle of friends...

He broke my heart *sob*

Its one of those day which I couldn't understand what my little boy wants. It all begin in the morning when Oscar was weeping when we reached the school. He keep on telling me that he wants daddy to go pick him up later. My answer was yes as our usual arrangement was, if I were to send Oscar in the morning, hubby got to make sure that he fetches Oscar in the afternoon. But today I have decided that I go and pick Oscar up instead after school.

As soon as my little boy sees me coming into the school compound, he straight away flashes his million dollar smile at me and when we got into the car, he was smiling and asking me to take him to the McDonalds. I said no cos we had fast food last week and I usually let Oscar eat fast food only once every two week and if I can avoid, I'll avoid altogether. So, here I went to convince him:-

Oscar: Mommy, take Oscar to eat McDonalds. I want I want...
Me: Oscar, Ah Po (my mom) cooked rice already. So, we have to go home to eat.
Oscar: No No... we eat rice tonight... now eat nuggets, corn.... drink some cold water...
Me: Er Oscar, now hor, the sun very hot la... the McDonalds uncle not open la... so we go tonight with Daddy ok?
Oscar: No!!! Dark dark (night time) only McDonalds uncle not open ma... dark dark uncle sleep ma... now go now got open...
Me: *thinking hard and driving straight to mom's place*

Upon reaching mom's place, Oscar was very un-happy and he said this:

Oscar: Oscar tonight dont want go home. Sleep with PoPo only.
Me: Why? You dont want to go home to sleep with mommy and daddy meh?
Oscar: Oscar dont love mommy anymore.... Oscar dont want mommy anymore....

Upon hearing this, my heart ache the most.... How could a 3.5 yr old boy differentiate between love and hate; like and dislike especially when it comes to unconditional love like mother and son kind of love....Oscar repeatedly told me that he dont want to come home with me but was made to cos my mom got to go out for some errands....

Oscar, mommy love you so so much... be good ok?

My Mini Conversation with Oscar (lost count on the number already)

Haha, yes, mommy is getting old Oscar, so mommy actually lost count on the number of these little conversation I had with you.

Last week when mommy went to fetch you from school:
Mommy: Hi Oscar. How was school today?
Oscar: Ok fine thang q.
Mommy: What did you had for your snack today?
Oscar: Hmmm.... soup soup.
Mommy: What soup? Mihun soup?
Oscar: No No, Mr Bean Soup.
* Now, can you readers out there guessed what type of soup Oscar had in school? Yes, he had Red Bean Soup... Not Mr Bean Soup....

This evening before you go to bed
Oscar: Mommy carry you (me)
Mommy: Mommy busy with work la... wait ah.
Oscar: Cannot wait... carry you (me) now.
Mommy: Why so manja one...
Oscar: B'cos my eyes cannot open and my leg cannot walk... I so tired... carry you(me) to bed peeas....(please)

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Tonight was one of those lonely night cos hubby got to work late and also got to go entertain some customer. Oscar slept super early today cos he kept on telling me he is tired so I tucked him in early tonight. So, the whole house is very quiet and as I was doing some office work, I recollect last Saturday's event.

I had a gathering with some of my very old ex-colleague. These bunch of peoples are the very first colleague I have ever had. They are from my first job in Bandar Sunway. These are the coolest people I hang around with (not that now I hang around with non cool people) but these are the super friends I have and I treasured the most.

I started work at a very tender age. I work part time and also study part time cos my dad wants me to learn the hard way of earning money and spending it wisely myself. Not that my dad can't afford my edu fees but he just asked if I want to do part time in both my work and studies... Of course, he still provides for me in terms of my school fees and my fat pocket money. I always have enuff to spend last time.

While I was working at this company, I am very close to few of the staff. These are also very young talented people whom I enjoyed hanging around with after work every Saturday some 10 years ago. See, I just told you I started work at a very tender age and I have known them for 10 years! Gosh!!!! Time flies. These are also the people I need not ask for a lift but will always be offered a lift after late night work (Overtime) and also supper is provided. Haha, I guessed, I was the little sister they never had that time. And whenever I am down, they will cheer me up with their drawings and little sweet notes. And whenever I called in sick, the next day I turn up at work, they will be get well note and sometimes, nice warm breakfast for me... No kidding, they are the bestest of the best friends I ever had.

I have not meet these people for almost 2 years as we are all busy with our lifes. Me married with kid, they busy with their new career path and some of them busy with their family too. So, its really hard to gather all of them together. Not many of us, just these 5 precious friends I have. We had dinner and then dessert and we chatted and laughed and most of all, the strong feeling of friendship is still there, despite of us not seeing each other for so long. On and off, we just drop each other a note of hi / bye via text message. That's all.

You see, I dont have a lot of friends. Its not that I am not sociable but I just dont know why I dont have alot of friends.... sei ler... is it me or what! But with them, you feel like you have tonnes of friends even there is only 5 of them. They dont blog and they dont read my blog either... so, I really dont know how can I express my gratitude to them for being my friend.

*sigh* Really look forward to our next gathering. Hopefully, I dont need to wait for another 2 years.....

Masak Masak

Can someone pls tell me the exact name of this vegetable? My mom told me its called the smilling face gourd (siew hau gua) and my friend told me its called 'jit gua' but I tot 'jit gua' is suppose to be long minus the funny looking 'smile'/'lip'.... Looking at this vegetable makes me laugh. Looks exactly like me holding my fist together funnily.. and the vege sort of like asking 'helo, wanna eat me tonite?'.... So weird!

I just 'tembak' on the cooking method cos mom said she never bought this vege before. I sliced off the skin of the vege. A hairy vege I would say. After slicing off the skin, I find that this vege emits some kind of sticky sticky stuff... dont know what is it. So, I cut it into strips (is it called julian?... haha Julian the blogger) oh where am I? Ah yes, then I also cut some carrots into strips. Then set aside. I did soaked some dried prawns and some 'farn si'.

Just heat up the frying wok and throw in the soaked dried prawns and let it fry till fragrant. Then throw in the vege and carrot then put in some seasoning. I put in some fish sauce and also some sugar to balance off the saltiness and last but not least, the 'farn si'. Voila! Done. Hubby told me this dish reminded him of his mom's cooking.... and he ate alot! I think hubby really misses his mom... and her cooking. Will try to cook more of MIL's style of cooking when I have time.

Sacrifice

Tot of doing a short post after dropping off Oscar at mom's place.

Was picking Oscar up from school for the past one week cos hubby not free. Actually, I can't blame him cos after school is like mid day and sometimes, mid day is the start of hubby's day. He works from home in the morning sorting out mails, designing artworks, running to the bank and afternoon is the time he goes out for appointment and also back to his proper office to work. So, I have to understand him more and try to take over this picking up biz myself.

Why I say sacrifice? I mean, I have to sacrifice my lunch time wor. Not that I eat 1-hour or what but this 1-hour is the only time I can take a break and eat slowly in the office and take my mine off work. But lately, I have to go off extra early (slightly before 12) and head to the school to fetch Oscar. And knowing our office area, its a hell-break loose situation whereas cars are all double parked and when I am in a hurry to leave, there is always a car behind me (no no Amah, not talking about you ok). After picking up Oscar I have to rush back to mom's place and get a quick bite. I have been eating like super fast at mom's place cos I have to rush back to office... I know I have an understanding boss but the amount of stress has really taken a tol on me already. Oscar, if you are reading this in future, pls remember mommy goes through a lot of stress daily in sending you to school and also picking you up daily.

I know this person also goes through alot of stress in sending and picking up her kid from school. I hear it from her everyday. She also sacrifice her lunch time to do all this. See, look at the great lenght we mommies go through in this issue. Not that we want to be so calculative just because of this silly 1-hour lunch time but trust me, driving in KL and PJ IS MAJOR STRESS!!! I think I aged 10-years already since the day Oscar starts school!!!

Others might just say we can just leave our kids with the bus driver but could not do it. At least, not at this moment. I dont trust my kids life in other people's hands.

So, anyone of you out there who care to share yr experience with me? Any of you out there who sends and picks up yr own kids like I do?

Still happily married and will maintain till the day come... these are the words (very 'yuk ma') uttered but my dad on a daily basis to my mom each and everytime he made my mom angry.. hehe.

Nope. Dowan la.... once in a while vegetarian nevermind la but.... full time wor, how to indulge in charcoal bbq, yummilicious curry chicken and other MEAT related food!

YES!!! There was once in my younger days (me still very young now), I was riding on a super-duper 'geng' motorbike with my ex-colleage to town. Out of a sudden, a car came from nowhere and almost knocked us down and my friend was like trying to maneouver the motorbike with me at the back. He fell and I was flung a meter or so from the spot. All I did was just sat there like shocked and luckily I was ok, with just some bruises... no blood and no stiches required..just a pair torn jeans. Twisted my ankle and it still hurts till now.

5. What jewellery do you wear 24/7?
My wedding ring.

6. Favourite time of day?
Haha.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz time.

7. Do you eat the stems of broccoli?
Of course la... its so so yummy... stir fry it with some mushroom and oyster sauce and oooooorgassmic!!!!

8. Do you wear makeup?
Er... not really la... but if using eyebrow pencil to touch-up my unruly brows counts, then YES lor.

9. Ever have plastic surgery?
Hmmm, if I have $$$ I want to go do up my eyebrow nicely and also a nip&tuck on my flabby tummy... ya la ya la... me fat fat liow la...

10. Do you colour your hair?
Many times before I had Oscar but never after him... Hmm... maybe I should this CNY... what say you?

11. What do you wear to bed?
Just my Mickey Mouse or Pooh Pjs... sometimes, I 'ter-sleep' in my work wear if too sleepy... hehe.

Er, wind down the window to throw toll receipts illegal ar not?!

Just did it this morning... need to re-do it tomorrow morning when I wake up .... damn!

Betul (Nike that is) and my Reebok Aerobics shoes... now dont know where liow...

Believe la.... but no good for both the mother and un-born child mentally and physically...

Nothing to do weekend

No weekend post cos my weekend was spent mostly at home walking up and down and picking up a fight with hubby... hehe, joking oni la. He tried to irritate me but not successful wor...

My boy is not well again and today is his first day he 'ponteng' school. He was a little bit not himself yesterday but we still took him out for dinner and right after dinner, it got worst. His flu was really bad and also starting to feel feverish. He insist to be carried all the way in MegaMall... and just imagine hubby got to carry a piece of rock for 2 hrs! Again, stroller was left lying at home... Hubby got no mood to shop so I just went and look around for some stuff but also, end up empty handed. Head home and gave Oscar some medicine and we all go to sleep early.

I hope Oscar will be ok tomorrow as he will need to go to school tomorrow. He is so clingy to me and I also pity him cos he has to breath through his mouth and he wants to eat his pacifier at the same time.... like that how to breath la!

Wow, can sustain for so long...

My Week'N

** An up-date on my previous post. Thank you all for your valuable comments. I guessed, it will take Oscar sometime to get use to proper schooling environment. I mean, this is a big step for my little boy whom he is always so well protected by his AhPo and Grandpa. this is a growing phase for him.**

I spent my weekend well but not enuff rest cos too much activities. But the most worth mentioning thing I did last Saturday is throwing LaundryAmah and Annie a B'day Party. Hmm, not like a huge B'day Bash but its like B'day Party cum Bloggies Gathering. You can view photos here (nobody is blogging abt this gathering meh?) It was supposed to be some sort of a surprise but then due to some problem here and there and due to my carelessness, it didnt turn out to be some sort like a surprise... hehe, solly ah Amah and Annie.

The food was yummy and I was like so so full after dinner. Went home straight away made myself a cup of peppermint tea... ah.... bliss! To all who attended this gathering, thank you so much for coming and I am very happy to meet you all. I know I didnt talk alot with some of you cos me busy eating and yakking with other mommies too... Next time ok, I promised, I will organise another round, not so havoc one ok?

As usual, Sunday was spent sleeping at home but this particular Sunday was different. I woke up like super early and did some house chores and then when Oscar woke up, we went to have brunch and groceries shopping in Carrefour, Subang. Wow, they have already put up Chinese New Year deco and playing 'Tak tung chiang' music. Haha, like Amah, I bought Oscar a piece of cheongsam for boy. Haha, good deal, not bad but I kiasu, bought the size too big and only to realised it when I reached home. I tried it on Oscar when we were there but somehow, it looked very over-sized on Oscar when I tried it again at home... Shiats! Have to go again by this week if not no exchange is honoured.

And I bought this for Chinese New Year. Last year, we bought the 'Mui Fa' and the 'Pussy-Willow' (is this how you called them, those white buds sticking out of branches wan??) The dangling stuff is from Ikea, haha, left over from my X'mas tree... So stingy la me!

Really looking forward to Chinese New Year cos its the time I go visit all my aunties and uncles, and each and every year, I will see them aged gracefully and I always count my blessings that my family members are always united as one. And of course, my mom will be the most happy person cos she is like 'lepas penjara' like that. Gallivanting till late night at my aunty's house yakking and eating... Ok, got to take out my weighing scale to watch out those kilos. Many many years ago when I was with my ex-company, times like this are times that I dread the most. The suppliers, customers will come flocking my office with food stuff and lunch and dinner invitations. And my boss will always ask me to be his 'shield' and ask me to attend on his behalf @#$%^&*%#@$ My ex-boss is always travelling between our Guangzhou factory and our Msia factory. Oi, I got to watch my weight too ma... Like those food but aiyoh, every other night is mental la... not that I am so teruk, ppl invite also I dont go right??!

Ok... want to do some office work now... (but very sleepy la) I think do tomorrow la... hehe.

A Week Ago

A week ago, it was Oscar's first day in school. Daddy and Mommy accompanied you to school and you were so happy and mommy noticed you enjoyed yourself.

A week later, today; Oscar decided to cry on our way to school... Don't know why but all of a sudden, our little friend started crying when he saw me turning into the school compound. I tot he had a stomach ache or something. But he told me he dont want to go to school. I parked my car and un-strap him from his seat and took his bag and walked slowly to his school. The nearer we got to the school the louder he cried. I had to carry him in and help him to take off his shoes. He stopped crying when I told him I will stay with him for a little while. But I have to work, so I have no choice but to leave Oscar with the teacher. He was holding on to my hand so so tight and when I let go of his hand, he quickly held on to my shirt. Broke my heart maximum. Oscar was pleading me to take him home "Please mommy please" "Please take me home" "Mommy, please..." I have to run to my car cos I can't bear to hear my son crying for me. Poor boy, he could have been traumatised by some event that happened yesterday at school but still have problem in speech in relating the incident to us. I felt so so bad...

I really dont know. After fetching him from school, I asked how was his day and he told me the teacher beat him! I asked him why and he told me cos he cried. Hmmm, do I believe my son or what? Is this the trick kids used nowadays to get themselves off something they dont like to do?

I told hubby and hubby was furious. He said he want to go confront the teacher. I mean, for all you know, Oscar was trying to tell a lie; so that he dont need to go to school ma... So, anyone can give me any suggestion to tackle this matter? Pls...
