My Birth Story...

After reading some mommy's blog which dictates their birth story, I tot, "Ok-la, I also put up my cerita la... at least next time Oscar will know how on earth he came into this world".... So here it goes...

16th July 2003
Was at my mom's house (I took leave 2-weeks earlier cos my tummy was like its going to explode!) having lunch and mom said "Tomorrow (17th) no need to come over to have lunch with me la... stay home and rest la, ha ha, maybe you will give birth tomorrow too..." I said, "No la, I come la, I take you out for early Birthday Lunch la (mom's birthday was on the 18th)..."

17th July 2003
Woke up extra early (like 8am) and told hubby that I feel like not well... body like extra heavy and tired. So hubby advise better not go anywhere but stay home, he said he will come home to eat lunch with me... I called mom to cancel our lunch 'date' telling her I am not well. So she ask me to rest and ask to call if I REALLY give birth that day. So I was like lying on the bed the whole day in the room and watch tv.... dont know why that day was feeling very un-easy. Got up from bed to check my bag (the bag which I need to bring to hospital) few times just in case I forgot anything. Check my baby's supplies of clothes, diapers etc.... Nap again and woke up only to realised that it's already 5pm (started napping at 2pm) Hubby came home and saw me sleeping so he left for work again. Sms-ed me at 5 odd to say that he is on his way back... Went out for dinner at 7 plus and came home shortly. Again, I watched tv and chatted with hubby and again, I check my bag! Hubby said he is very tired so he said he want to sleep first. I continue watching tv... I remember clearly what I watched the other night, it was Fear Factor follow by CSI!! So after CSI, it was already 11pm and hubby was sleeping like a baby. I went into the toilet to brush my teeth and 'shi-shi'... It was then I felt something strange, its like a gush of warm water coming out from 'there'.... Me no experience tot well, maybe cannot control bladder cos baby so big... so I continue to change my pyjamas and walked to the bed.... then agian, the warm gush of water came!!! This time round, the floor is wet! Ok, I know the time is here already.... I woke hubby up but he is still sleep-talking, asking me what.... I told him I think boy boy is coming, with his eyes still closed, he asked, why you stomach pain pain ah? I said no la, but you wake up and see.... that time I was in tears liow (panic ma) then hubby woke up and saw the floor is wet, he sprung up from the floor (yes, during my pregnancy hubby sleep on the floor cos he is scared that he might kicked my stomach!)... Hubby asked me if I want to go shower and wash my hair first or not!!! I was crying already and he ask me this silly question... Hubby gave me a hug and ran to the room next door to wake my sis in law up... Sis in law and bro in law came into our room and saw me standing there all wet and crying!!! Sis in law then asked me to change and hubby to take my stuff to the car, must go hospital liow cos water bag broke.... cannot wait till tomorro... that time was like 11.3opm..

11.50pm: Arrived at the hospital and sis in law followed. She is the one who take care of everything cos hubby was busy with the checking in and loads of forms to fill in.

18th July 2003
12.15am: I was checked into the waiting room where I changed into the 'airy string' only piece of cloth! Then, the nurse came to check if I was dilated or not.... solly only 1cm. Then the nurse did the usual stuff like shaving... and enema and God knows what la...

12.30am: Hubby came back and went into the labour room with me (yes, only 1cm dilated and they placed me in the labour room liow with all the equipment ready) The nurse hooked me up with the heart beat monitoring mac to check baby's heart beat.

1.30am: Nurse asked hubby to go home first cos long way to go.... Hubby went home....

** I was like, alamak, what am I to do while waiting leh.........

3.30am: I was so surprised cos hubby came back... this time with some drinks and mag for me. Hubby was seating with me and chatting with me.. till I dont know what time ....

6.00am: Hubby said he will go home now to sleep for a while (still 1cm dilated only) and promise me to come again at 8am

8.30am: Very bad contraction and I was like crazy cos hubby also no where to be found and my phone was like way way away from my reach! Tit Tit the nurse to come and told her I already booked for epidural........ Told the nurse I need it NOW!!! Nurse said, now is 8.30am so will have extra RM50 charge cos is before working hours... I said come la come la....

8.45am: Hubby came but was not allowed to come into the labour room cos I was all ready for the epidural procedure and the process was done by the hospital's famous epi specialist, non other than Dr M! He was cracking joke but I could not laugh cos I need to curl up like a prawn!

9.45am: All done and I was also induced cos baby's heart beat dropped alittle. Hubby was beside me all this time.

1.00pm: My doc came and said only 2.5cm dilated... long way to go!

4.40pm: Doc came and said only 7cm dilated... So gave me one dont-know what jab to faster the dilation process... by that time my epidural ran out liow!!! Panic!!! I asked if can add but doc said cannot..... Cham ler

5.00pm: Doc came in with 3 nurses and said "Ok, its show time!" Hubby was beside me and the whole process was really crazy. The baby was already dis-engaged and is no longer at the centre of my stomach but at my left side.. So the mid-wife must use some force to push back the baby to the centre!!! Awwww, so pain... Doc was already cutting and then the whole process went like very fast... within few mins the doc asked me to push, and I pushed the wrong way and cried at the same time and its like hell broke loose cos doc said baby's head cannot come out so must vacuum!!! That time doc asked me to push one time 'terra terra' one I pushed and then fainted!!!! Really, I fainted and didn't know what happend, but according to hubby, I fainted when the baby came out.... I didn't get to identify my baby so hubby got to do all the work... I really fainted and woke up when the nurse wheeled me back to my room.

7.00pm: Its all over... When I woke up, my hubby, my mom and dad and everyones is here to see me... That time, I keep on asking to see my little Oscar but the nurse said Oscar is having his feed..... My mom said happily "Haha, you really so sayang me cos you choose to give birth today to my grandson.... really a wonderful birthday present for me....." I cried again....

So, this is how Oscar came into the world........ and his presence in our lives really makes a difference. Oscar brings us joy and laughter ......... and I can't wait till 18th again... to celebrate his 3rd birthday with my mom............
