My Reunion Dinner

As what I have posted in my previous blog, we will be having or rather HAD our reunion dinner at the Neways Karaoke in Cheras Plaza (the new building next the Leisure Mall in Cheras). We arrived rather just on time.... cos the dinner buffet starts at about 8pm sharp.. We arrived 15mins before. And, as what I have guessed correctly, my Oscar ran around like a wild stallion when he arrived. Happily playing with his niece. Kids will be kids.

Then came the cool waiter telling us that the buffet is ready.... Wow, to my amazement, the spread is VERY generous... We are welcomed with loads of oysters, fresh cold prawns salad, sushi/sashimis, some other cuisines and deserts (fusion i think)..... Waleow, beh-tahan la, a lot of meat and I dont dare to take the oyster cos takut kena stomach upset. So I took two pcs of cold prawn and two pcs of fried chicken and a bowl of pumpkin soup. Very full... leave some space for desert cos I saw blueberry cheese tarts and strawberry ice cream..... Chiak ka-liow the desert really full.

Oscar was running around and didn't had his food despite of me taking his fav fried rice... He just want to play.........

We went home about 10pm cos Oscar is tired and I am having a horrible plus terrible headache all of a sudden...... Must be something I drank!!!!

So, went home and straight to bed. Leaving hubby with all the last min housework. Hbby was such a darling, he cleaned the house, put all the goodies into the containers and even fung the angpow......... hehe.. mommy so sayang, muaak....

Thats about it, my REUNION DINNER........... hope next year they have better suggestion cos didnt really enjoyed myself......... If we have it at home at least there is mahjong session !!!!

I Wish.......

I wish ..........

1) I had more time (say an additional 2 hours a day)
2) I can complete my office work by 5.30pm daily
3) I cook more often for Oscar and daddy
4) Iron my clothes every weekend and not go out kai ka every weekend
5) I stick to my original plan that is to clean the house last week
6) THE CHINESE NEW YEAR IS ONE MORE WEEK AWAY AND NOT TWO DAYS AWAY!!!

Ok, enough rambling. I know its all very last minute for all these wish cos I am one of those last minute person (my mom use to call me 'lam kap wat si hang'.) So, ya I didn't clean the house (hubby did some cleaning but not as good) and I didn't manage to finish ironing my clothes on last Saturday. And to add on to my WORST list, I noticed last night we didnt buy mandarin oranges!!! Hubby tot I bought and I tot hubby will buy........ and the dried meat. A must in our house........

Sigh, I think I have no choice but to pretend I had a headache (fake MC) and take the half day off...... ngek ngek ngek... no la, I just tell my boss that I need to go off half day today to make some last minute preparations la. I think she will understand....

Die la me, got to go buy mandarin, got to go buy dried meat, drinks and worst of all... I drove a small car today... Darn, should have drove hubby's car... (My hair is a mess so first stop, saloon!!!)

What's happening today?

First and foremost, must thank Egghead for helping me with the Lilypie thingy... Ha ha, in case Egghead is reading this, you must collect some fee for this la.... Untung sikit.

Secondly, was really doing marathon reading (read heading then quickly go to the next blog) on all the blogs... and really found some very nice blogs. Sangat cantik la.... with music some more. Best of all, I found a site that teaches ppl to make cakes and they actually got recipes.... yes, SWEE'S EATERIES.........

Today I will try my best to finish up my work as it is really pilling up. No help la. My boss is out these few days and its like i have to really one leg kick. Been kicking non stop and recently I found that my work quality has depreciated. Too much work and too little time. Last time before Oscar, I stayed back (OT) to finish whatever is possible... but now, I have to leave office 5.30pm on the dot to fetch Oscar to relieve my mom and to let her cook. Oscar has been a little bit out of hand lately cos he insist he wants to go home at 6pm sharp. No thanks to my mom too cos she taught Oscar to tell the time *by looking at the clock, both hands straight....... like a line, its time for you to go home* so, Oscar will watch out for the time and once its strike 6pm, he will take his shoes to wear and wait at the gate.... Cham mou..

I have completed issuing cheques for most of the debtors and now need to do salary. Aiya, if I prepare today, sure cannot get it by Friday one.... then again this year, pocket very airy lor. Like last year, got salary like the very last minute. Lucky go savings la, if not really cham. I hope at least can get by Friday la, no need to korek my savings ma... Ask hubby also can but if got own money to spend, lagi syiok..... Can buy things and not need to ask hubby to pay. I dont want to korek my savings la (not that I have a lot la)

Ok, got to go do the salary liow. Cheers.....

Lilypie thingy

Aiya ya..., wanted to add the Lilypie birthday ticker here but dont know la... Somehow, tried but it didn't appear. Just the photo appreared. Apa-la... Anyone can tolong me ah? TQ

Pregnant but not married

Sneaked out for lunch date with a friend P today at MegaMall. Waliow eh, weekday somemore its already 2pm still so packed and no parking you know... We have to round and round for sometime then only can get parking leh.

We had lunch at Dome Cafe and as usual, I will order nothing but the chicken pie... So does everyone else (me, P and her friend whom so happened to be there-so i belanja also la cos i also know her). When the pie came I regretted for not ordering their pasta... (cos the pasta next table ordered looks much more tastier) cheh, next time la.

So during lunch we gossip about work and the coming CNY holiday and greatest gossip of all is.... A friend of P got pregnant!!! No boyfriend and not married but pregnant. She is from Tawau so can you imagine if you are pregnant in such a small town, its like the whole town will know!!! Gosh.... this girl (lets call her A), is quite sad as nobody understands her condition and she has no choice but to come to KL to stay with the brother cos the parents is too sad and A has got lots of pressure from the family...... (you know la, where can parents accept daughter got pregnant in such surprised mode one)

Came to know that she got pregnant with a man ... not any man but a married man. Sigh, she is actually really brave to get pregnant as she is very vulnerable cos in another word, you are a mistress!!!

But, I think everyone has got thier own thinking. I mean, if A has got the courage to face the world with a baby...... we must also support her in any way. Nobody wants to be criticise for the decision that they made which other people finds it inappropriate, right?

I am still thinking about A say after she gave birth cos the planned to give birth in KL, confinement how leh, how to take care of the bb if she works leh...

I think all will fall into place when things come............

Neways Karaoke, here we come

For those friends whom I have told them about my plans for reunion dinner, I guessed this will be another amendment to it.... Nope, we are not cooking nor eating out but, taa-daa... We are going to Neways karaoke for reunion dinner....... HUH? Yes, I had the same reaction when I heard this from hubby.

Well, not that I dont like reunion dinner with the in-laws, but it is suppose to be a sit down dinner right? I am very 'antic' one when it comes to dinner with family. This year is a really shocking thing, reunion dinner in a karaoke.... I cant bring myself to imagine what will they serve and what will my litle boy react with all the people smoking and loud music.

Then again, look on the bright side, we might not have other opportunity to hang out at such places since everywhere we go little Oscar tags along.

So, we will see how la.........

CNY Reunion Dinner

Reunion Dinner

CNY reunion dinner has alsways been a BIG thing for me since I was a child. This is the time whereby we eat till we passed out and chat and run around my Ah Mah (dad's mom) house.

When Ah Mah is still around many years ago, we will go to her house (she stays alone) and bring our own food and she will also cook like a feast. All my aunties and uncles and cousins will arrive with MORE food and drinks. Therefore, we all makan and makan till be cannot take it anymore, mind you, my Ah Mah has got 4-sons and with their wifes and kids, that make my Ah Mah's house filled with laughter and during dinner, the tables will be divided into two tables. One for adult and one for kid (that point of time, I fall under the catogory for kid but I was already 16 yrs old.......)

Then when Ah Mah passed away in year 1997 (very sad), the following year (1998) we had reunion dinner at our own house. Again, mom will cook a feast. Mom will usually cook her signature dish; Sengkuang with prawns (looks like the stuffing in popiah-just that hers is with much more stuff in it), Steam 'yuk chuk' chicken, Hou See Fatt Choi with pork, Butter Prawns, Abalone with Brocolli and another two more dishes (which varies from year to year). BUT, there are one 4 of us at home....... So again, we eat till we passed out........ Then we will play cards with mom... Me and my brother will make sure mom wins... keh keh keh.... so that on the 1st day of CNY mom's angpow will be BIGGER......

Then when I got married, reunion dinner changed entirely..... SIL x 2 does not really cook up a feast....... Only the first year I got married cos FIL is still around, so we all chipped in and cooked the usual stuff like steam chicken, pork and vege....... AGAIN, alot of them cos my FIL is Hakka, they believe during CNY must serve alot of food.........

Then FIL passed away the 2nd year I got married because of pneumonia. Then from that year onwards (I married in year 2002), we have STEAMBOAT for reunion dinner. For a consecutive of 3 years!!! I mean, I have been exposed to 'eat till you pengsan' reunion dinner, all of a sudden we are having STEAMBOAT?? But still its a change and can accept la. Hubby loves steamboat as he claimed that you can take longer time to eat and eat more (to me more of what.... how many fish ball and sotong ball can you eat) Well, we still enjoyed our self.. I guessed its the company that matters.

Well, this year pulak, BIL suggested that we all dont cook (in my heart, ok eating out), but we hang out in the KARAOKE....... Huh!!!!???? Yeah, I had this huh thingy too. Nowadays this kind of hang-out place serves buffet dinner and at the same time the youngsters can sing their heart out........ But, to me reunion dinner is supposed to be a sit together dinner and not with loud music and smoke and walking up and down to get food!!!! I just kept quite and so does hubby. I know hubby only wants to be with his brothers and what ever we are having, it does not matters.

Anyway, to me whatever we are having (but I hope not buffer in Karaoke), its the togetherness that counts......... Woofff Wooff....

I am back

Pheewww, has been quite some time since I blogged. My earlier posts was all wiped off cos me smart alec, wanted to do some terra stuff to it and God knows what I clicked, and pooff, gon-ed all my posts.

Ok, to start things of, just want to blog on the events that is going to happened in the coming days:-

Saturday:

• To clean the house
• To do some last minute shopping for LitChampion
• To do some last minute decorating (no time during weekdays one-la)

Sunday:

• To go to the market to get some meat (Chicken, pork, prawns etc)
• Shop for mandarin oranges
• Iron all un-ironed clothes in the basket (basket overflow liow)

I think that is about it. Anyone reading this post can please help me ah? How to post photos ah?
