To watch or not to watch

I hardly have time to blog this week, haha only have time to read other ppl's blog.. Reason:
1) Brain was as tight as a knot...
2) Lots of work to complete
3) Body in office but soul at home zzzzzzzzzz (lack of rest la me)
4) Too much work which makes me very inefficient... my productive level has went to zero!!!

OK, back to my post. I read a short article last night about child's concentration. It seems that a child's concentration could be badly affected if the watched too much TV. OMG, Oscar watch the telly like 2 to 3 hours a day... in staggered hours of course. But this article I read said, a child is only permitable (is there such word) to watch TV for 20 mins with an adult at side to explain and for role playing... how to role play if they are watching Bananas in Pyjamas leh... I dont want to be a banana wor.....

So, this article proves that some of its points (many point in this article I just picked this one) is correct cos, I recalled recently a friend told me that her son lacks of concentration in class and its like his minds wanders away quickly if he is asked to perform a task like colouring, drawing and even building blocks.... (her son is 5 years old)....... The teacher said this has got something to do with watching too much TV..... true he son watch TV all day long!!!! Darn Astro Channel 63!!!!

Its like I can't let my son watch TV anymore..... I will have to switch to educational CDs already. And spend time sitting with him in the house and doing nothing productive myself hmmmm......I have loads of it but Oscar lost his interest in those already.. Time to go shopping for CDs... any recommendations daddys and mommys.....

A friend, A Collegue, A Father, A Husband and A Good Listener

I have been contempleting whether to post this blog or not but after I read it over and over again and edit and edit over and over agian, I tot, ok what the heck, I have already written it so why not post it also la.

This blog is specially dedicated to a good friend of mine lets just call him NB. He used to work in this very same office as I am but now, he is working with a well established company. Yes, he is all of the above title. A charming middle age man (solly NB, anybody over 40 to me is middle age ok), not alot of hair (most hair left on his head have already turned white), still looks good (I mean he does not have any belly and tall), talks maturely, crack up good jokes once in a while, always make me believe that There Is God Over Looking Us From UP There, always a good listener when I wanted to blah and blab about Mr DL (oh, will blog on Mr DL too later) and best of all, I personally thinks he ia a perfect 10 husband.

Why do I say he is a perfect 10 husband? Not that I am complaining that mine is not but NB has got this extra trade that my hubby does not have... NB is a GOOD COOK.... Ok, besides of that, he told me this before, "I live my life for my wife and son. Everything I do, my wife and son will be my first priority." Wow, die or not if you hear this your self....

NB is special also because he is a person who dedicate his life to his job. He will make sure he does his job if its not to 100%, but to 99%........ me, aiya as long as it is done can lor!! He now works with a Germany based company so he travels very often. So often that when he returns back to MY, his dearly son would do up a timetable on how much time they should spend together where they should go etc.... Little Boy misses daddy so much.... NB flies so often that I could not keep track where he is a times.......

Lately, NB has to some marital problems, yes, so perfect husband also got marriage problem. Its not so much of NB's problem but the wife. You see, the wife calle her P, has got some serious cleaning and hygiene problem... Scene one, before going into the house, must wash legs and hands (normal to everyone). Scene two, after touching the door knob, it has to be disinfectant with Lysol or Dettol (hmmm, I dont do that, do you all do that?) Scene three, after eating a slice of bread, mega sweeping and mopping the floor {mind you, P already mega sweep and mop the floor few mins before eating the slice of bread} (I dont even bother to mop the whole dining room even if Oscar spill a bowl of soup-I just mop the area that kena the soup.. hehe) Last but not least Scene Four, after visitor come and sat on their sofa, P will again disinfectant and clean the entire house and will 'high-time' clean the sofa and whatever the visitors touched......

So, NB was quite 'frust' with this and every where in the house he goes or he touches, P will mega clean and wipe and disinfectant..... I really pity NB cos he is such a nice man and he really cares for his family... But in return he is treated like a 'pile of dirt'. (This is the exact words that NB used when he told me the story). To me, NB is not those messy guy or anyone who likes to litter, he is one pleasant man with nice smell to be with all the time.........

So, why is P treating him so wierd-ly and must clean everything he touches? This is affecting their marriage and NB is really sad... He and P's constant arguing is now affecting the son... I can imagine how P looks like when she clean the house non-stop everyday.........

Will you do this to your hubby? Reverse, will you do this to your wife?

NB, just in case you are reading this, I really pray for God to give you all the patience and pray to God to show P that you are a wonderful husband... I know you are cooking up a feast today for P cos today its her birthday.. belated one actualy but you are so sweet to cancel one appointment to go to the market and get ready for tonight......... May you and your family be happy all the time..... And thank you for being my friend and always listening to my complaints!! GOD BLESS YOUR HUMBLE SOUL........

Valentine's Day

Yesterday was valentines day so me and hubby went out for dinner, with Oscar of course. After numerous calls and sms i got from hubby, we decided to meet at home and then make a pick on where to go for dinner. The conclusion, MidValley.

So there we are, wandering around and felt very amused that all we saw was couples hand in hand and estimated about 90% of them were couples... only a handful was family and singles... really boring looking face....

Well, there we go hunting for food and aikes... everywhere we go is either have to wait to food for 1 hr or long q till no end... wanted to take japanese buffet... full, japanese ala-carte... full, italian food... hubby hates it, fast food... we always have that...... and ta-da, we sat down at the food court instead!!! Hubby is going to compensate this weekend with better celebration hor!!

Eating our 'tuck-shop' food away and well, not much complaint.... I guess its the company that counts... Me, hubby and little Oscar........

My Cry Baby

For those who have read my previous blog, I just like to keep them informed about the condition of my little son....

Yeap, we went out together to have dinner and half way home, he cried like there is no tomorro!!!

You see, I can tolerate his crying, in fact, according to my mom, my level of tolerance is way much higher than her, to the extent that I can sleep soundly if he is crying next to my ear when he is a baby and I can continue to do my office work if he cries in the cot last time.

But, the other day was different. His crying was like... uuuuweeaaaaaaaaa iiiiiiiiiiii momm....... uuuweaaaaaaa iiiiiiiii out car seat mommy.......... uuuuu weeeaaaaa iiiiii sob sob... **cough cough**... uuueeeekkkkk (vomit sound)......

So, could you leave a crying kid that cries like that and most likely if I leave him crying, he might vomit one........???? The answer is no for me.... and I have friends in the car also ma... His crying is accompanied by a lot of kicking and taking off shoes and like.... he is possessed!!!! Ama, I really dont know how to describe to you all readers la. He has never cried like that before for his entire 2.5 years life!!!!!

Sigh, there will be another outing tomorro, yes, bringing my little champion out. I hope he does not act like the other day and hope that hubby agreed to come along too (all aunties and no uncles attending tomorrow's dinner la)

Will let you guys know and pray for me ah....

My Evening Out with Oscar

Last night I went out for dinner with Oscar and Daddy didn't come along cos he dont really know my ex-colls. So, I rushed home at about 7pm cos Oscar 'dili-dali' at mom's place....pick up his toys la, ride one round in his buggy car la, sit and finish his fruit la and take forever only to wear one side of his slippers... arrrggghhh.....

Ok, nvm cos I am happy to know that now my son has got his own personality, that is to WASTE time... Then when I reached out little castle, I quickly shower and then change Oscar into his 'kai-kai' clothes... and I even gel-led his hair... keh keh..

Then a friend whom she is suppose to come to my house to go together got lost in one of those many 'taman' around my area. So give directions and all and that was already 7.45pm!!! Remember, dinner was suppose to be 7.30pm? Cannot lor, quickly call the restaurant cos this restaurant is always packed 365 days regardless of cny or not. Also because we wanted to make sure that we dont wait for our table la.... Then friend came and I was driving like a MacLaren Race Car driver... cos another friend of us arrived liow and vomitting foam liow waiting.

Reached the restaurant at about 8.10pm, and ok, very packed the restaurant. So we sat down and about 5 mins later the rest of the gang came. He He Ha Ha, exchange ang-pows and give each other nasty but no harm comments on how each other looks (we only meet once a year, so a lot of changes).

Wa very long blog; then we ordered the signature dishes:
1) Curry Fish Head
2) Steam Fish in their special sauce (very yummy... feel like licking the plate too)
3) 5-spice roast chicken
4) Salted Egg Crab
5) Home made tofo
6) Asparagus with Scallops

The had 'dong-por' meat but everyone shooked their head saying dont want to eat so heavy meal.... everyday meat very scared so that's it... 6-dishes.

Like I expected, Oscar only ate a few spoons of rice... cos he at quite a lot a mom's and start requesting to come down from his high chair. I brough some drinks and yogurt for him to buy time for myself.... ok sat and ate... Very fast, 15 mins again want to come down... I let him down and he is ok, just stand near me and occasionnaly waved and smile at the pretty cheh-cheh next to our table.

Alot of yaking and laughing... oh I missed this bunch of friends (noticed I dont called them ex-colleagues anymore - we have been through alot together) so they are my very close friens.... Reminising old times... only 1-of them is still with the company, the rest all left either to some other company or be their own boss-y.

Ok, now came the highlight for the night. We left the restaurant at about 10.45pm... and I head to my car with two friends... Driving them home. So, went into the car and put Oscar behind his car seat as usual... And then head home via Federal Highway... And damn jam cos they must pick this time to mend the road.... which to me is good enough cos when they mend the road, meaning they will start digging again and mend again and so on it goes... Sigh. Me and friends continue yaking and all of a sudden, Oscar cried very loud....... For no particular reason... Cry Cry and wanted to come out from his seat. Scared that he might vomit in my car... I asked my friend behind to unfastened his seat belt.. He refuse to let anyone touch it!!!! Cia latt lor, me in front driving with a crying kid and a very jam road.... Perfect.... So with my terra skill, I turned behind (jam ma) and unfastened his belt and asked him to stop crying and sit still .... He came to the front and and when I say he came to the front, he came to the driver's seat!!! Sat on top of my lap... Die la, driving la... how. And he wants to be hugged. Double die la.... No choice but to stop the car in the middle and swithc place with my friend. Aske her to drive instead and I sat in froont with Oscar..... Die or not. He stop crying immediately. My friends all laughed and ok, we continue our yaking till we reached our friends place.... Then Oscar sat quitely next to me when I drove home.... No car seat but, the heck, he stopped crying liow.

Reached home at about 11.30pm and cleaned Oscar up and he went straight to sleep... zzzzzzzzz I think he is very tired and you know kids la, want means want....

So, this is how it went.....my perfect evening out with my date, Oscar.. Luv You..

Oscar's Daily Food Intake

In my previous blog, I did mentioned that Oscar only eats white rice... Yes, he is a white rice eater... Not a vegetarian and not a meat eater too...????

Eating pattern:
Morning (wakes up at 7am)
Drinks plain water about 6oz...
Drinks milk about 6oz at 9am
Biscuits or bread (hates!!! whole meal bread, will show yucky face and see if got chance, he will hide it amongst his toy!!! terrible son of mine)

Lunch
Milk again cos most of the time, when mom made lunch he will refuse to eat. But if he eats, he only eats like 5 - 6 spoonful of rice with some soup or half an egg.... So under feed my son la... But he dont want to eat, what can I do? Mom sometimes make spagetti, ok eat a little also.
Then nap from 1.30 to 3 or sometimes if tired can nap until 4 pm... then milk again!!! But mom likes to give him bread or biscuit with 3 oz milk.

Dinner
Usually Oscar eats at about 7pm... same, few spoonful of rice and that's all... but occasionally he will finish one full bowl... provided mom make his fav chicken chop with sauce... he likes the sauce over white rice. And Oscar loves oily rice (chicken rice)... just the rice without the chicken.. cham-liow my son... only takes carbs, no protien and others.....

Before bed
Sure 7oz milk and 2 oz plain water and zzzzzzzzzzzz to lala land

So, mommies out there, any help for me... cos I am really scared Oscar is under nourish and he is not gaining weight since the last time I weigh him.., and that was like 6 months ago...

With or Without

Today is the 11th day of cny... Therefore, tonight I have organised a gathering with some ex-colleagues for dinner. Venue, tentatively at Robson Heights Restaurant, Taman Seputeh and there will be about 10 of us...
Now, I am contemplating whether to bring Oscar along or not cos nowadays, he does not sit still during meals... He will finish up his dinner (he eats white rice only till now.. blog on this later) so he will attempt to come out from the high chair and wander around the restaurant. Once, he walked to another family's table and said hi... Pengsan la me. So, still negotiating with hubby cos tonight hubby want to go to friends house to visit; but we already visited that friend's house last week (heard tonight got some hoi toy...). I asked hubby to bring Oscar since this friend of ours also has a son about the same age as Oscar... Hmmm, see how first this evening.
But deep down, I want to bring him along. Recently, I think I have developed seperation anxiety!!!! Ya, me, the mommy... I think after the 10-days holiday, everyday with him, now suddenly I only see him for few hours in the evening, I misses him so much during working hours... Cos, now Oscar also know how to pick up the phone, so I will rang mom's house few times a day-just to chat with him..........
Oscar, mommy so sayang you....... muaaakkk

The "Dahsyat" Move I made

The fourth day of Chinese New Year. Most people will blog about how they celebrate their Chinese New Year but for me, I will continue blogging about my constipated son cos I am so STRESSED out!!! Really do not know what this little man wants. He refuse to eat (don’t blame him, stomach full of s**t, no more space for food) and drinks water only. His usual junk food (Pringles and raisins) don’t seem to get his attention. Have been calling and asking people I meet what do I do with my son. Very weird la, the conversation goes like this:-

Me: Aiyo, my chai (son), have not mmm mmm for the past 5 days!!! What do I do??
SIL: ‘Lei cham la’ (Susah la you). Like this sure fever one….. Give banana la…. Lots of fibre.
(Ok no solution, except banana)

Me: Eh, Oscar did not do his big biz for the past few days la. Last time your son got like this ah?
Friend: Hmmm, then you better make him more juices….
Me: No, Oscar don’t like juices… The only thing he drinks is plain water and Vitagen.
Friend: Then drink more water and wait lor…….
(Again, no solution)

Me: Mommy (my mom-la), Oscar mo or si gei yat wor. Dim suin hou? (Mommy, Oscar few days no mmm mmm wor. How ah?)
Mommy: EEEE, stomach meh hou tai lor? Bei dor tit sui hui yam. (EEEE, then his stomach very big lor. Give hime more water la.
Me: Given. But still cannot la. He makes weird faces and I know he wants to mmm mmm one… Stools too hard so cannot come out la.
Mommy:………… then how?
Me: I buy the enema pump can ah?
Mommy: Aiyo, don’t la Oscar so small…. But what to do? You buy and I do la….

Still contemplating whether to do it or not. And hubby actually hesitated on buying the pump at first. Hubby went and bought the enema pump at last cos Oscar again cried for no reason. When I saw the pump hubby bought, reminds me of the day I went into the labour room. The nurse brought in the enema pump and I was like ‘huh, this is for me ah?’ The size of the pump already make me pengsan sekejap.

Called mom on the phone to come for dinner and also for the BIG JOB. My mom is a pro. First she hold Oscar up and the next she inserted the pump into err, there la. And the very same instant, Oscar was like screaming like hell. Pop him onto his potty and ‘tok-tok’ came two long…. Err you know what la.

The sight of relieve is seen in me and hubby’s face… and Oscar’s too. Imagine carrying two long sticks of small log on your tummy for few days… I think this is how my little champion feels….
.

My Constipated Son

On the second day of Chinese New Year and Oscar has been acting strangely since Friday night. Not that he wants to sneak out of the house or eat raw chilies, but, he has been standing in one corner of the house quietly and occasionally you will hear “mmm, mmm”. For those who do not know my son, whenever he makes this sound, it means he wants to do some big business. Well, he has been doing this for two days and no results to it. And today, for no particular reason, he wept uncontrollably cos I suspect his stools are very hard and requires a lot of effort to ‘push’ it out…. Oh gosh, me and hubby are like nuts cos we really do not know how to help our son and Oscar has got this worrying frown on his face too.

Sigh, just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow. But his buttock is really red and he screams ‘pain, pain’ whenever I washed his bottom before bed and sometimes when he sits down.

Yawn....zzz....

Sangat malas la.... Now up-dating my blog like a snail.... slooooowly....

Been reading some blogs today and noticed that some of the 'regulars' gave their blog a new 'face-lift'.... keh keh, cny punya pasal la.

Ok, let see.... what to write first............
